Grief Support
Hospice of North Ottawa Community's Bereavement Services are open to anyone in the community who has lost someone close - even if the loved one was never under Hospice care. Our counseling and professional services include:
Grief Counseling
Provided to both children and adults by trained bereavement counselors, sessions may take place in the home or Hospice offices.
Life After Loss
This on-going adult grief support group provides opportunities to receive emotional support as well as resources that explore the many aspects of dealing with grief. The group is facilitated by a trained Hospice bereavement counselor.
Lunch Bunch
Social outings at area restaurants are held for anyone who has lost a loved one through death. This program provides an opportunity for good conversation with new friends.
Understanding Grief
An 8-week informational series offered to anyone who has experienced a death-related loss that combines education with personal sharing. This annual series is designed to increase understanding of the emotional, spiritual, and relationship changes that occur following a significant loss.
Heartpoints
Specialized support for those who have suffered the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death. Individualized resources and support are provided by trained bereavement counselors.
Monthly Mailings
A thirteen-month series of informative bereavement letters and articles.
Lending Library
Grief-related books, articles, videos and bibliographies available for community use.
Annual Memorial Service
Candle light service open to the community.
