Standards of Care

Standards of Care Statement:

North Ottawa Community Health System is dedicated to providing quality care. We follow processes that have been developed, researched and recommended nationally which enable us to provide optimal patient outcomes.

The “Hospital Compare” Program was created by members of the Hospital Quality Alliance: Improving Care through Information (HQA). This program, supported by the Federal Government, was developed to measure how often hospitals follow the recommended standard of care. North Ottawa Community Hospital recognizes your need to be informed and realizes that you have a choice for your care. North Ottawa Community Hospital values you and therefore has chosen to participate in submitting our quality data.

North Ottawa Community Hospital proudly received the 2007 Governor’s Award for Improving Patient Safety and Quality of Care by implementing the recommended standards of care. In addition North Ottawa Community Hospital received the Governor’s Recognition of excellence for being among the top 10% of hospitals in the Appropriate Care Measures category. NOCH is one of only eighteen Michigan Hospitals to receive this recognition. Below is a snap shot of our Quality Core Measures through March 2008. A complete list of our Quality Core Measures is available to the public at hospitalcompare.hhs.gov.
